Senior Backend Developer – Java, Microservices, Dubai

About the role

We are seeking a senior backend developer to lead the design and delivery of high‑performance, scalable services for a leading client in Dubai. The role focuses on Java‑based microservices, event‑driven architectures, and cloud‑native deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design and development of scalable backend systems.
• Define technical strategy and solution architecture across multiple projects.
• Design and implement high‑performance microservices using Java 17+, Spring Boot and Spring Security.
• Build event‑driven systems with Kafka and asynchronous messaging patterns.
• Ensure scalability, fault tolerance, resiliency and high availability of backend platforms.
• Define API design standards for secure, backward‑compatible RESTful services.
• Mentor engineering teams and promote best development practices.
• Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to deliver business‑critical solutions.
• Drive code quality, security, performance optimisation and engineering excellence.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Proven experience leading architecture and design of distributed systems.
• Strong mentorship and team‑leadership abilities.
• Ability to work onsite in Dubai and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
