Senior Compliance Manager – Commodities

About the role

This senior position offers the chance to own the compliance function within a fast‑growing international commodities trading business. You will work independently, providing practical compliance guidance while aligning risk controls with commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary compliance lead, managing the function autonomously.
• Provide day‑to‑day compliance advice to trading, procurement, finance and operations teams.
• Identify, assess and mitigate business and third‑party risks across international trading activities.
• Design and implement effective control frameworks that support hedging, physical trading and other commercial operations.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and deliver proactive compliance recommendations.

Required profile

• Proven compliance experience in a commodity trading house, agribusiness, energy trading, shipping or a similar international trading environment.
• Deep understanding of corporate compliance, business risk and third‑party risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and make sound compliance decisions without constant supervision.
• Experience supporting trading activities, including exposure to hedging or physical trading.
• Fluency in English; additional languages such as Arabic, Portuguese or French are a plus.
