Senior Construction Engineer – Mechanical & I&C (PMC)

About the role

Wood is recruiting an experienced PMC Senior Construction Engineer (I&C) for a key client in Abu Dhabi as part of the ADNOC Gas PMC team. The position is full‑time, site‑based and responsible for overseeing mechanical construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed mechanical construction plans, schedules and resource allocation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, international codes and client requirements for all mechanical systems.
• Monitor and control project costs and schedules, preventing overspending and ensuring timely delivery.
• Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on mechanical installations and equipment.
• Identify risks in mechanical activities, implement mitigation measures and enforce strict safety protocols.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors and clients to align mechanical works with overall project objectives.
• Integrate eco‑friendly practices and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Manage installation, testing, commissioning and hand‑over of mechanical systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Control or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in offshore/onshore oil & gas or petrochemical industry, including at least 5 years in the GCC region.
• At least 5 years in a similar senior position on international projects exceeding USD 1 billion.
• Proven leadership and strong written and verbal communication skills across diverse cultures.
