Senior Construction Engineer – Pipeline

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Engineer specialized in pipeline projects to lead on‑shore pipeline construction activities in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on planning, execution and supervision of works while ensuring safety, quality, schedule and cost targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage pipeline construction activities on site.
• Develop construction methodologies, work packs and detailed schedules.
• Supervise contractors and construction teams to ensure safe and efficient execution.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, project specifications and relevant codes.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, commissioning and project management teams.
• Monitor construction progress, productivity and prepare regular reports.
• Support constructability reviews and resolve site construction issues.
• Interface with clients, vendors and subcontractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant oil & gas experience.
• At least 5 years of experience working in the GCC region.
• 5 years in a similar senior construction engineering position.
• Proven leadership, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Pipeline installation, welding, testing and commissioning.
• Construction methodology development and work‑pack preparation.
• EPC/EPCM project environment experience.
• Strong knowledge of HSE requirements and industry codes/standards.
