Senior Customer Engineer – Sub-Saharan Africa

About the role

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Customer Engineer to lead technical engagements for enterprise customers across Sub‑Saharan Africa. Based in Dubai, you will act as a trusted advisor, guiding clients from pre‑sales validation through deployment, onboarding and ongoing expansion while leveraging Cloudflare’s global network.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to conduct deep‑dive technical discovery and translate business requirements into Cloudflare solutions.
• Design and validate deployment architectures, ensuring optimal performance, security and scalability.
• Drive the full customer lifecycle, from initial proof‑of‑concept to long‑term expansion, acting as the primary technical point of contact.
• Utilise AI‑augmented workflows to streamline administrative tasks and focus on high‑value architectural design.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to provide feedback and influence roadmap for the Sub‑Saharan market.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a technical advisor or customer engineer in a cloud‑focused environment.
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
• Track record of managing enterprise‑level engagements end‑to‑end.
• Willingness to travel within the Sub‑Saharan region as needed.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of internet networking, security and performance optimisation.
• Experience with cloud‑based platform architectures and deployment models.
• Familiarity with AI‑driven workflow tools.
