Senior Engineer - Construction (AWP)

About the role

The Senior Engineer – Construction (AWP) will join Petrofac’s Advance Work Packaging team in Abu Dhabi, supporting the preparation and execution of construction and installation work packages for energy projects. The role focuses on integrating engineering, supply chain and construction data to ensure smooth, safe and quality‑driven delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with construction, fabricators and subcontractors to develop detailed Construction Work Packages (CWPs) and Installation Work Packages (IWPs).
• Incorporate engineering deliverables, material requirements, resource constraints, safety and quality control measures into each package.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Supply Chain to verify data accuracy and availability.
• Maintain and monitor the lifecycle of CWPs/IWPs, ensuring a sufficient backlog of approved packages.
• Prepare weekly reports on package drawings, IFC dates and material delivery status.
• Support the Change Management process within the packaging programme.
• Work with document control to link EWP, CWP and IWP documentation.
• Align work packages with the overall construction path in partnership with project planners and construction engineers.

Required profile

• Minimum of 60 months (5 years) of relevant experience in construction engineering or advance work packaging.
• Proven ability to coordinate across engineering, supply chain and construction teams.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret design documents and define scope.
