Senior Engineer, Construction (Instrumentation)

About the role

Penspen is hiring an experienced Senior Engineer, Construction (Instrumentation) based in Abu Dhabi to oversee instrumentation works for oil and gas projects, ensuring safe, timely, and quality execution in line with project specifications and industry standards. The role involves supervising installation, testing and commissioning of instruments and control systems, and coordinating with contractors, vendors and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of instruments and control systems.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements, and construction work packages.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, engineering teams, and other disciplines.
• Monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance with project schedules.
• Manage inspections, loop checks, system completion, and handover activities.
• Resolve technical and site‑related issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Control Engineering or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in the oil & gas sector.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the GCC region.
• 5 years in a similar senior construction instrumentation position.
• Extensive experience with oil & gas pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of field instruments, DCS, PLC, SIS, F&G, and control systems.
• Experience in EPC/EPCM project environments.
• In‑depth understanding of HSE requirements and industry codes/standards.
• Proven leadership, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.
