Senior Engineer - Planning

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer – Planning to join AECOM’s Abu Dhabi office. In this position you will develop and execute comprehensive planning strategies that drive project success and operational efficiency. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimise resource allocation, manage complex schedules and ensure delivery on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules and timelines using tools such as Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.
• Analyse project requirements, identify risks, dependencies and optimisation opportunities, and present data‑driven recommendations to senior leadership.
• Allocate resources across multiple projects, perform capacity planning and monitor progress against baselines, implementing corrective actions when needed.
• Prepare and deliver planning reports, forecasts and performance metrics to management and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior planning staff and promote best‑practice planning processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in planning or scheduling.
• Proven ability to interpret complex data, manage multiple priorities and communicate findings to diverse audiences.
• Experience with risk assessment, mitigation planning and contingency management.
• Familiarity with UAE or Middle‑East regulatory and market conditions is preferred.
