Senior Engineer, Reservoir Simulation

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer specialized in Reservoir Simulation to join ADNOC in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on building and updating black‑oil and compositional models to support field development planning, risk assessment and economic evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full‑field simulation models, perform history matching and generate production forecasts.
• Collaborate with geoscientists on reservoir characterization, upscaling and fluid EOS modelling.
• Conduct sensitivity analyses, uncertainty and risk assessments for development schemes.
• Design and evaluate IOR/EOR strategies such as water, immiscible and miscible gas injection, surfactant and polymer processes.
• Apply deterministic and probabilistic reserve estimation methods (Mbal, DCA, Monte‑Carlo).
• Diagnose model convergence issues and convert black‑oil models to compositional representations.
• Integrate pressure and production test data, support reservoir monitoring and data‑gathering programmes.
• Liaise with contractors, review study findings and provide actionable recommendations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in reservoir simulation and field development optimisation.
• Strong understanding of reservoir engineering concepts, fluid properties and EOS calibration.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
• Attention to detail in model quality checks and data integration.
