Senior Facade Engineer

About the role

Dar is seeking a Senior Facade Engineer to lead the design review and engineering oversight of complex façade systems across projects in the United Arab Emirates. The role combines technical expertise with coordination across structural, architectural and MEP disciplines to ensure performance, constructability and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate façade concept designs for cost efficiency, performance and code compliance.
• Lead detailed engineering of unitised and stick curtain wall systems, structural glazing, skylights, atriums, aluminium cladding, composite panels, louvers and shading devices.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, international standards (ASTM, AAMA, EN, BS), wind‑load criteria, seismic movement, thermal and acoustic performance, and fire‑life safety regulations.
• Coordinate façade interfaces with structural, architectural and MEP teams.
• Manage shop drawing and technical submittal processes, approving calculations, thermal analyses and method statements.
• Verify detailing for movement joints, tolerances, anchoring, waterproofing, drainage and thermal breaks.
• Review and approve material submittals including aluminium profiles, glass types, gaskets, sealants, fixings, insulation and fire‑stopping solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience in façade engineering and design.
• Proven track record in site supervision, mock‑up execution and performance testing.
• Strong knowledge of structural calculations, seismic simulation and thermal/acoustic analysis.
• Familiarity with international façade standards and local UAE regulations.
