Senior Highway Design Engineer – Dubai

About the role

The Senior Highway Design Engineer will lead the technical delivery of highway design packages for major infrastructure projects in Dubai. You will provide engineering leadership, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff and act as the primary technical liaison with clients and authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead geometric and detailed design of highway projects, ensuring compliance with RTA, Dubai Municipality, AASHTO and international standards.
• Develop innovative engineering solutions and conduct value‑engineering and design optimisation studies.
• Review and approve design calculations, drawings, reports and specifications.
• Facilitate design reviews, interdisciplinary coordination workshops and resolve complex engineering issues.
• Prepare and assess temporary traffic management and construction staging proposals.
• Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs, NCRs and design revisions.
• Plan, manage and monitor assigned design packages, resources and schedules.
• Identify project risks, develop mitigation measures and support commercial reporting.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for clients, attend meetings and support authority approvals.

Required profile

• Senior civil or transportation engineering professional with extensive highway design experience.
• Proven ability to lead design teams, mentor junior engineers and manage client relationships.
• Strong knowledge of RTA, Dubai Municipality and AASHTO design standards.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and experience in value engineering and risk mitigation.
