Senior HSE Engineer

About the role

AESG is seeking a Senior HSE Engineer to lead health, safety and environmental activities on construction projects in Dubai. The role acts as the client’s HSE representative, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all HSE activities throughout the construction phase.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Monitor contractor performance and enforce corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents and near‑misses, producing detailed reports.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, Site Engineers, contractors and authorities to minimise risk.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of post‑graduate experience in construction HSE, with at least 5 years in the UAE/GCC.
• Experience in engineering consultancy or multidisciplinary site supervision.
• Proven track record on commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, mixed‑use or infrastructure projects.

Required skills

• NEBOSH International Diploma or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent).
• Lead Auditor qualification for ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality Code of Construction Safety Practice and UAE legislation.
