Senior Instrumentation Control Engineer

About the role

Target Engineering is looking for an experienced Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to lead I&C construction activities on large‑scale Oil & Gas EPC projects in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for site execution, testing, commissioning support, and vendor coordination while ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise instrumentation and control construction teams on EPC sites.
• Organise site crews, assign tasks according to schedules and construction sequences.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, construction methodologies, quality standards and HSE requirements.
• Review and address non‑conformances, prepare method statements and work procedures.
• Supervise testing activities such as Insulation Resistance, Continuity, LV power and instrument cable testing.
• Manage calibration of differential pressure, flow, level, pressure, temperature transmitters and control valves.
• Perform and supervise cold‑loop and hot‑loop checking for PT, TT, LT, FT, AI, AO, DI, DO and HART‑based devices.
• Review loop and hook‑up drawings, vendor documentation and supervise installation of air tubing and instrument hook‑ups.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years (120 months) of experience in instrumentation and control construction on Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Proven ability to lead site teams, manage testing and commissioning, and coordinate with vendors.
• Strong knowledge of HSE, quality assurance and project execution methodologies.
