Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer – Systems

About the role

Penspen is seeking a senior instrumentation and control engineer (systems) for a site‑based position in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on gas processing plant projects and the design, installation and integration of Instrumentation Control & Safety Systems (ICSS).

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve instrumentation documents, vendor packages and field instrument specifications.
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Integrated FAT, Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and commissioning activities.
• Integrate and commission DCS, ESD/SIS, Fire & Gas and PLC/SCADA systems.
• Perform loop checking, cause‑and‑effect verification and control‑loop validation for DCS, ESD and F&G systems.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Instrumentation from a recognised university.
• Minimum 15 years of experience, with at least 10 years in the oil and gas industry.
• Proven experience on gas‑processing projects, including design exposure and field installation of instruments and actuated valves.
• Ability to clarify instrumentation deliverables between the Home Office and field engineering teams.
• Experience with ADNOC group companies or similar Middle‑East oil & gas organisations is desirable.
