Senior Internal Control Officer – Operational Risk (UAE Nationals)

About the role

Provide support to the Director of Business Controls, Risk & Governance within the Mortgages department, ensuring robust risk and governance frameworks and handling investigations and issue management.

Key responsibilities

• Monthly MER tracking, follow‑up for closure and reporting.
• Prepare incentive and broker payouts for the mortgage team as per approved plans.
• Enter mortgage payments in the vendor management system to ensure timely payments.
• Conduct regular visits to vendor offices to verify calling activities, transmittals, records and adherence to clean‑desk policies.
• Coordinate remediation and closure of CRS, FATCA, EID, KYC compliance cases.
• Review and approve customer‑related requests, complaints and onboarding of CMs under MER.
• Maintain SOPs, SLAs and OPM documents, updating them regularly.
• Report potential frauds to F&I and conduct RCSA sample tests, reporting exceptions.
• Review incidents for ORE and perform KYC quality checks on applications.
• Support audit readiness, close audit items, RAR and QA issues, and lead ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• UAE national with experience in internal control, risk management or governance within banking.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage operations, regulatory compliance (CRS, FATCA, KYC) and audit processes.
• Ability to track and report metrics, manage incentives and vendor payments.
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills to identify and resolve issues.

Required skills

• Proficiency with vendor management systems and mortgage payment processing.
• Experience conducting RCSA testing and fraud reporting.
