Senior Legal Counsel – Courts

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel – Courts provides advanced technical and strategic support to the ADGM Courts Registrar and Chief Executive. The role focuses on shaping strategy, legislative frameworks, and dispute‑resolution services for ADGM Courts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic initiatives for ADGM Courts and its dispute‑resolution services.
• Identify, draft and propose changes to ADGM’s Founding Law, Courts’ Regulations, Rules and Practice Directions.
• Collaborate with the Registrar on new initiatives, including arbitration and mediation services.
• Prepare Board papers, liaise with ADGM’s General Counsel and represent the Registrar at Board meetings when required.
• Assist the judiciary in case management, liaising with law firms and litigants on complex operational issues.
• Represent ADGM Courts at high‑level government and stakeholder meetings and speak at UAE and international forums.
• Manage the Courts’ team during temporary absences of the Registrar.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law.
• 10‑12+ years of experience in litigation within a law firm or comparable environment.
• Proven experience advising on legislative and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong understanding of civil and commercial dispute resolution.
