Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel will oversee all legal documentation, fund/DPM structures and investment contracts to ensure full compliance with UAE and international regulations. The role works closely with compliance, risk and finance teams and leads interactions with regional and international regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all legal documentation, fund/DPM structures and investment contracts comply with UAE and international regulations.
• Collaborate with compliance, risk and finance teams to assess and mitigate legal risks.
• Lead interactions with regional and international regulatory authorities.
• Develop and refine legal frameworks to enhance governance and compliance.
• Support dispute resolution and litigation matters related to investments and corporate governance.
• Provide legal advice on discretionary portfolio management, fund management, technology and international risk and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Law degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a legal counsel within banking or financial services.
• Proven expertise in UAE regulatory environment and international financial regulations.
• Strong understanding of fund structures, discretionary portfolio management and corporate governance.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with compliance, risk and finance teams.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
