Senior Maintenance Management System Engineer

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Maintenance Management System Engineer to lead the implementation, configuration and management of a Maintenance Management System (MMS) for complex asset portfolios in Dubai. The role bridges engineering, construction and facilities teams to ensure accurate asset data, seamless system integration and a smooth digital hand‑over to operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end implementation, configuration and deployment of the MMS platform.
• Design and define asset hierarchy, taxonomy, naming conventions, tagging and coding structures aligned with industry best practice.
• Create and maintain comprehensive asset registers for architectural, MEP and specialist systems, ensuring data accuracy and validation.
• Capture and upload asset attributes such as specifications, warranties, spare parts and maintenance history.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to gather and verify asset data throughout project phases.
• Integrate the MMS with Building Management Systems (BMS), SCADA and other operational platforms as required.
• Develop preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, configure maintenance plans, schedules, task lists and resource requirements.
• Support reliability‑centred maintenance (RCM) analysis and continuous improvement of asset performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading MMS or similar asset management system implementations on large‑scale projects.
• Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, classification standards and data governance.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, construction, facilities) and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Excellent analytical skills to validate data and ensure system compliance with operational requirements.
• Experience in the construction or infrastructure sector, preferably in the Middle East region.
