Senior Manager Contracts – Commercial & Contracts

About the role

The Senior Manager Contracts – Commercial & Contracts leads the development, review, negotiation and administration of construction and consultancy contracts across the organisation’s development portfolio. The role provides trusted advice to internal stakeholders on contractual, commercial, procurement and risk matters, ensuring robust contract frameworks and protection of commercial interests.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation, review and negotiation of construction, consultancy, supplier and other project‑related contracts.
• Develop contract strategies and procurement approaches aligned with project objectives and timelines.
• Support tendering activities, including documentation, scope reviews and commercial evaluation.
• Provide contractual guidance throughout project delivery, managing changes, variations, extensions and payments.
• Monitor compliance of consultants, contractors and suppliers and maintain contract governance procedures.
• Review and assess contractor and consultant claims, prepare responses and support dispute resolution.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks, develop mitigation strategies and ensure appropriate risk allocation.
• Collaborate with development, design and procurement teams to align contractual terms with project requirements.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in contract management for construction or consultancy projects.
• Proven ability to lead contract formation, negotiation and administration.
• Trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on contractual, commercial, procurement and risk matters.
