Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design Division in Dubai. The successful candidate will lead detailed mechanical design work for high‑rise and hospitality projects, ensuring compliance with local authorities and sustainable design standards.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed design drawings for HVAC, public health, fire protection, BMS, irrigation, swimming‑pool and gas systems.
• Prepare technical specifications, schedules and design development reports.
• Interpret contract documents and project scope to guide design delivery.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and monitor the performance of junior engineers.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet all statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Support submittals and obtain No‑Objection Certificates from Dubai authorities (DM, DEWA, Civil Defense, Trakhees, EHS, DDA, etc.).
• Participate in team and client meetings, communicating design decisions effectively.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in an engineering consultancy in the UAE, preferably Dubai.
• Proven track record delivering projects from concept through detailed design.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Professional membership (CIBSE, IMechE or ASHRAE) is desirable.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
