Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design Division in Dubai. The successful candidate will lead the mechanical design of high‑rise and hospitality projects, ensuring sustainable solutions and compliance with local authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed mechanical design drawings for HVAC, public health, fire protection, BMS, irrigation, swimming pool and gas systems.
• Prepare technical specifications, schedules and design development reports.
• Coordinate design work with multidisciplinary project teams and monitor junior engineers.
• Ensure projects meet contractual scope, deadlines, budgets and regulatory requirements.
• Support submittals and obtain NOCs from Dubai authorities (DM, DEWA, Civil Defense, Trakhees, EHS, DDA, etc.).
• Participate in project meetings and communicate design decisions to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in an engineering consultancy in the UAE, preferably Dubai.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Membership of a recognized professional body (CIBSE, IMechE or ASHRAE) is desirable.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Mechanical design expertise for HVAC, fire protection, BMS, irrigation, pool and gas systems.
• Proficiency with HAP software, Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of Dubai regulatory authorities and sustainable design practices.
