Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design Division in Dubai. The role requires extensive experience in engineering consultancy, sustainable design, and interaction with Dubai authorities. You will lead detailed mechanical design for high‑rise and hospitality projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed design drawings for mechanical systems such as HVAC, public health & fire protection, BMS, irrigation, swimming pools and gas.
• Prepare technical specifications, schedules and design development reports.
• Interpret contract documents and project scope to ensure deliverables meet requirements.
• Coordinate design work with other project team members and monitor the performance of junior engineers.
• Ensure projects are completed within agreed deadlines and budget.
• Maintain communication with senior design team and keep them informed of key decisions.
• Guarantee compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Support the preparation of submittals and obtain No‑Objection Certificates from relevant authorities.
• Participate in team and project meetings as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in an engineering consultancy, preferably in Dubai.
• Proven track record delivering projects from concept through detailed design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in Arabic and English.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Membership of a recognized professional body (CIBSE, IMechE or ASHRAE) is desirable.
