Senior Mechanical Engineer – High‑Rise Projects

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical engineering activities on high‑rise building projects in Dubai, ensuring proper planning, execution, testing, and commissioning of all mechanical systems and equipment in line with project specifications and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee installation, testing, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Review and approve project specifications, drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documents.
• Plan mechanical work sequencing and ensure availability of approved drawings, materials, equipment, and resources.
• Prepare, manage, and close Technical Queries (TQs/RFIs), deviations, concessions, and waiver requests.
• Perform material take‑offs (MTOs) and provide technical input to procurement and planning.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and third‑party inspectors to resolve technical issues.
• Identify scope changes, support variation discussions, and ensure compliance with international codes (ASME, API, AWS, ASTM).
• Provide onsite technical supervision during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Monitor progress, approvals, inspections, and readiness for handover; lead punch‑list preparation and close‑out documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure all activities meet HSE and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE/B.Tech).
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering on construction projects, preferably high‑rise buildings.
• Strong expertise in mechanical systems, equipment installation, and commissioning practices.
• Proven ability to lead site activities and manage multidisciplinary coordination.

Required skills

• Mechanical systems design and equipment installation.

• Material take‑offs (MTO) and technical query (TQ/RFI) management.
