Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating)

About the role

Wood Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) to join its Dubai team. The role involves leading mechanical engineering scopes for oil and gas production facilities, with occasional travel to Iraq for business trips.

Key responsibilities

• Assume sole responsibility for assigned mechanical engineering work scopes and deliverables.
• Plan, budget, organise and control mechanical engineering deliverables for FEED and detailed design phases.
• Prepare mechanical deliverables that comply with international codes, standards and client policies.
• Provide technical guidance on mechanical queries from internal and external parties.
• Coordinate with client engineering, operations and maintenance teams to ensure consistent project execution.
• Promote safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with other disciplines during design, construction, pre‑commissioning and start‑up.
• Identify progress or quality concerns and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng./M.Sc.).
• Minimum 15 years of relevant oil & gas experience.
• At least 6 years of proven capability in an engineering design environment.
• Operational support, construction and commissioning experience.
• Experience with rotating equipment, power generation, static equipment and mechanical package engineering.
