Senior Mechanical QA/QC Engineer

About the role

James L Williams Middle East is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to join its QA/QC team and support the delivery of major MEP projects across the United Arab Emirates. The role ensures that all mechanical works are carried out in line with the Project Quality Plan, specifications, approved drawings and authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure mechanical installations comply with the approved Project Quality Plan (PQP), specifications, shop drawings and authority requirements.
• Develop and coordinate Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Method Statements for mechanical installations.
• Manage Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) and verify delivered materials against approved submittals.
• Conduct material and work inspections with consultants and third‑party inspectors, releasing only approved items for installation.
• Prepare and coordinate Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and address any rejected MIRs/WIRs promptly.
• Manage NCRs and Site Observation Reports (SORs), driving corrective actions and close‑out.
• Verify calibration of measuring and testing instruments and control the use of latest IFC drawings on site.
• Oversee project close‑out documentation, including As‑Built drawings, O&M manuals, warranty certificates and spare‑parts requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience, with mandatory experience on Data Centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical installations, inspection requirements, specifications and quality processes.
• Proven ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, project engineers, subcontractors and service providers.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, coordination and people‑management skills.
• Ability to identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
