Senior Medium Voltage Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical, SCADA & Instrumentation & Control Design Engineer to join our Dubai engineering team. The role focuses on the design, review and coordination of medium‑voltage electrical distribution, SCADA architecture and control solutions for water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and rehabilitation of Medium Voltage (MV) distribution systems, including substations and switchgear.
• Prepare load flow, short‑circuit, voltage drop and protection coordination studies.
• Develop single‑line diagrams, cable routing plans, substation layouts and detailed design packages.
• Design MV substations, distribution networks, transformers and related electrical infrastructure.
• Review contractor submissions, technical specifications and shop drawings.
• Coordinate with utility authorities and stakeholders to obtain technical approvals.
• Support planning and implementation of network upgrades, expansions and rehabilitation projects.
• Conduct site inspections, technical audits and engineering assessments.
• Participate in tender evaluations and provide technical recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with international standards and local utility regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in MV network design and rehabilitation.
• Experience delivering airport, utility, transportation, industrial or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Background in consultancy, utility companies or EPC organizations.
• Knowledge of GCC utility standards (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, EWEC, etc.).
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer certification is an advantage.
