Senior Piping Stress Engineer

About the role

Wood Group is seeking a Senior Piping Stress Engineer to join a high‑profile oil and gas project in Dubai, with the possibility of travel to Iraq. Reporting to the Lead Piping Engineer, you will take full ownership of assigned piping engineering scopes and ensure delivery to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, budgeting, organization, and control of piping engineering deliverables.
• Prepare and review piping design documents, ensuring compliance with international codes, client policies, and industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance on piping queries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate with client engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to align project execution.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout design, construction, pre‑commissioning, and start‑up phases.
• Identify and mitigate quality or progress issues, recommending corrective actions.
• Promote safe behavior and uphold quality standards on site.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng./M.Sc.).
• Minimum 10 years of oil & gas industry experience.
• At least 6 years in an engineering design environment.
• Experience supporting operations, construction, and commissioning.
• Proven ability to work in multinational, multicultural project teams.
• Previous Middle‑East exposure and sour‑service experience are advantageous.
