Senior Planning Engineer

About the role

The Senior Planning Engineer will lead planning and scheduling activities for large‑scale construction projects, ensuring that programmes align with project objectives, timelines and budgets. This role reports to the Planning Manager and works closely with subcontractors, site teams and consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, submit and maintain baseline programmes; track subcontractor schedules against the baseline.
• Prepare and update As‑Built and close‑out schedules, monitoring plant, manpower and material deliveries.
• Generate periodic reports, look‑ahead plans and respond to planning‑related correspondence.
• Conduct cost and time impact studies, support Extension of Time (EoT) claims and forensic schedule analysis.
• Identify project risks, advise on schedule slippage and devise recovery plans.
• Liaise with site departments to expedite document processes and ensure compliance with ACC SOPs.
• Mentor junior planning engineers and maintain production rates for equipment and labour.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years of planning experience on complex construction projects.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Leadership ability and experience mentoring junior staff.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
