Senior Planning Engineer

About the role

The Senior Planning Engineer will lead planning and scheduling activities for large‑scale high‑rise and villa projects in the UAE, ensuring that programmes align with project objectives, timelines and budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, submit and maintain baseline programmes, integrating subcontractors’ schedules.
• Prepare and update As‑Built and close‑out schedules.
• Track resource (plant, manpower) and material schedules, producing regular reports for the Planning Manager.
• Generate periodical progress reports, look‑ahead updates and respond to all planning‑related correspondence.
• Conduct cost and time impact studies, support Extension of Time (EoT) claims and forensic schedule analysis.
• Identify project risks, propose mitigation strategies and prepare recovery plans for schedule slippage.
• Liaise with site departments to expedite document processes and ensure compliance with SOPs.
• Mentor junior planners and maintain production rates for equipment and labour across trades.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years of planning experience on complex high‑rise or villa projects.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Leadership and team‑collaboration abilities.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Power BI (preferred).
• Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.
• Forensic schedule analysis.
• Claims and Extension of Time (EoT) analysis.
• Risk management and data analysis.
