Senior QA/QC Engineer (Mechanical)

About the role

Wood is seeking a Senior QA/QC Engineer (Mechanical) to lead quality assurance and control activities across its projects in the United Arab Emirates. The role ensures that all engineering work complies with project specifications, company standards, regulatory requirements and international best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor QA/QC processes, procedures and quality management systems.
• Review project specifications, quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs) and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Conduct audits, inspections and surveillance activities to verify adherence to quality requirements.
• Track non‑conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions and preventive actions.
• Review technical submittals, inspection reports and material certifications.
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors and vendors to resolve quality issues.
• Prepare quality reports, KPI dashboards and management summaries.
• Support internal and external audits, client inspections and regulatory reviews.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong technical and interpersonal abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s degree is a plus).
