Senior Software Engineer – AI Systems (Remote, UAE)

About the role

We are a VC‑backed AI‑native startup building production software for legal and professional services teams. As a Senior Software Engineer you will design, develop, and operate end‑to‑end AI‑driven systems while leveraging AI coding assistants daily.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python/FastAPI backend services for AI products.
• Build TypeScript/React front‑end features.
• Implement async workflows, queues, integrations, and distributed systems.
• Design, deploy, and monitor LLM agents, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and document‑intelligence solutions.
• Own features from concept through production, incorporating customer feedback.
• Use AI tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) for planning, architecture, debugging, and delivery.
• Ensure observability, reliability, and performance using OpenTelemetry and related tooling.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python backend expertise, preferably with FastAPI.
• Early‑stage startup experience and a product‑ownership mindset.
• Daily use of AI coding assistants and ability to apply them beyond code generation.
• Solid understanding of APIs, databases, distributed systems, and reliability engineering.

• £100k base salary.
• Equity ranging from 0.10% to 0.25%.
