Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Core42 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of high‑scale backend platforms for its AI‑powered cloud infrastructure. The role focuses on building resilient, cloud‑native microservices that power core IaaS domains such as compute, networking, and storage.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services for compute, networking, and storage using Java and Spring Boot.
• Integrate OpenStack APIs (Nova, Neutron, Cinder) with type‑safe clients built on Spring Cloud OpenFeign.
• Own performance optimization, addressing latency, memory usage, and thread management in high‑throughput systems.
• Enforce security best practices, including secure coding, data encryption, and identity management with Spring Security and Keystone.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Kubernetes deployments.
• Define and document RESTful APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger, ensuring clear pagination and status handling.
• Model data in PostgreSQL and craft efficient queries via Spring Data JPA/Hibernate.
• Lead testing efforts with JUnit 5, Mockito, and Testcontainers, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior Java developer building cloud‑native, distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of microservice architecture, container orchestration, and DevOps practices.
• Ability to drive technical excellence, conduct code reviews, and guide best‑practice adoption.
