Senior Software Engineer - UAV Ground Control Station (GCS)

About the role

The Senior Software Engineer for the UAV Ground Control Station (GCS) will design, develop and verify mission‑critical software that enables UAV command and control, mission planning, telemetry, vehicle monitoring and payload operations. The position blends C/C++ development, real‑time and embedded systems, HMI, communication interfaces and system integration, with exposure to flight‑control, hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing and operational environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, test and maintain UAV GCS software using C/C++.
• Create HMI/UI applications for mission planning, vehicle control, telemetry and payload management.
• Integrate GCS software with autopilots, flight‑control systems, sensors, avionics and communication links.
• Develop and maintain communication interfaces such as TCP/IP, UDP, CAN, Ethernet, RF/SATCOM and UAV datalinks.
• Implement real‑time processing for telemetry, video, vehicle health and mission data.
• Work with RTOS, embedded platforms, simulation and HIL environments.
• Develop automated unit, integration and system tests and support verification activities.
• Troubleshoot software, hardware/software integration and system‑level issues and support field testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 7‑10+ years of software engineering experience, with strong hands‑on C/C++ development.
• Experience in real‑time, embedded or mission‑critical software, using RTOS, Linux or Windows environments.
• Proven ability to design software architecture, object‑oriented design, multithreading and distributed systems.
• Experience with hardware/software integration and communication interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, serial).
• Solid background in software testing, integration and verification.
