Services Specialist – Applications Engineering

About the role

The Applications Engineer ensures Baker Hughes can deliver flawless execution through involvement in pre‑planning, job execution, and post‑job analysis. This position delivers a technical job program or application design that maximizes our opportunity to meet the job objectives in line with the contract terms and conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the Manage the Job Cycle (MtJC) process.
• Collaborate with Service Delivery Coordinators and sales to understand client objectives and contract terms.
• Perform engineering modelling calculations and offset job analysis to assess application hazards.
• Design job programs with risk mitigation and contingency plans to meet client objectives and maximize revenue.
• Document calculations, simulations, and plan revisions for audit and team visibility.
• Provide on‑demand support during job execution and compare planned versus executed jobs to capture lessons learned.
• Participate in incident investigations, manage root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Deliver sales support and product application recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and planning abilities.
• Willingness to be on call and travel to rig sites or customer facilities.
• Ability to work in a global matrix organization.
