Shift Machine Shop Operator – Steel Industry

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Shift Machine Shop Operator to join our steel plant in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will operate machine tools during assigned shifts, ensuring production of parts and spares according to engineering drawings and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate machine tools to manufacture work pieces or spare parts as per drawings or samples.
• Follow standard operating procedures and quality systems to guarantee 100 % machine uptime.
• Coordinate with senior machine shop operators and supervisors, providing support during plant shutdowns, breakdowns, or spare part production.
• Implement safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment on the shop floor.
• Set up and adjust equipment in collaboration with workshop staff, reporting any deviations to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Technical school education (any engineering or technical discipline).
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in a steel plant or heavy‑industry machine shop.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Computer literacy for basic data entry and reporting.
