Simulation Engineer II

About the role

PowerTech, a centre of excellence for propulsion technologies within EDGE Group, is looking for a Simulation Engineer II to join its Advanced Fluid Systems team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on the simulation, design and development of next‑generation gas‑turbine combustion systems for aerospace, defence and autonomous platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high‑Mach number combustion simulations using advanced CFD methods.
• Support combustor aerodynamic design and optimisation with both high‑fidelity and reduced‑order tools.
• Develop modules, components, subsystems and full propulsion systems, integrating 1D and system‑level analyses.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams on design, analysis and validation activities.
• Provide pre‑test predictions and post‑test analysis for engine and component testing.
• Contribute to the evolution of future propulsion technologies while maintaining existing product performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or related engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred).
• 3–5 years of industry experience in gas‑turbine or combustion system development.
• Strong understanding of combustor aerodynamics, combustion fundamentals and thermodynamics.
• Hands‑on experience with CFD tools applied to gas‑turbine combustion.
