Solid Propulsion Engineer II

About the role

The Solid Propulsion Engineer II will support the development, characterization, testing, and manufacturing of solid rocket propellants and related energetic materials. Working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, the role ensures that propulsion systems meet performance, safety, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate solid rocket propellant formulations, selecting energetic materials and additives.
• Conduct laboratory testing and material characterization, analyzing chemical, thermal, and mechanical properties.
• Support propellant processing activities, including mixing, casting, and curing, while monitoring manufacturing quality.
• Assist in test campaign qualification, analyze results, and prepare technical reports.
• Drive continuous improvement by developing engineering procedures and staying aware of emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience in chemical processing, materials engineering, energetic materials, aerospace or defense.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience with laboratory testing or materials characterization (preferred).
• Experience with energetic materials or solid rocket propellants is an advantage.
