Specialist Contracts Engineer

About the role

The Specialist Contracts Engineer will support the Project Contracts, Procurement and Materials team to ensure contract and procurement activities align with the Project Execution Strategy and HSSE objectives. This role is pivotal in managing EPC/FEED contracts, safeguarding performance guarantees, and overseeing insurance compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Champion project safety culture and ensure compliance with HSSE goals.
• Review and comment on EPC/FEED contract baselines, requirements, and division of responsibilities.
• Organise contract kick‑off meetings and instruct contractors on contract administration procedures.
• Monitor insurance requirements, assess potential loss/damage incidents, and coordinate insurance claim documentation.
• Ensure performance and bank guarantees are provided and maintained by EPC/FEED contractors.
• Evaluate contract changes, variation notices, and change orders, ensuring proper documentation and approval.
• Maintain project records management system and balance owner relationships with contract obligations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership in achieving HSSE targets.
• Strong understanding of EPC and FEED contract administration.
• Experience in managing insurance requirements and performance guarantees.
• Ability to liaise with legal advisors and resolve contractual issues.
