Specialist Engineer – Construction (Mechanical)

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Specialist Engineer – Construction (Mechanical) to support an offshore PMC project in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of mechanical works throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support onshore fabrication, module assembly, pre‑commissioning and construction activities for offshore oil & gas facilities.
• Review and endorse construction execution plans, work packs, method statements and procedures.
• Coordinate mechanical activities during fabrication, assembly, testing and pre‑commissioning phases.
• Monitor progress, identify schedule risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Provide technical support for static and rotating equipment installation, piping fabrication, structural interfaces, pressure testing and mechanical completion.
• Enforce HSE policies, ensure compliance with quality management systems and support handover activities.
• Interface with engineering, procurement, fabrication yards, commissioning teams and client representatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 15‑18+ years of experience, including at least 5 years in offshore projects.
• Proven track record on offshore platform projects, preferably with PMC/EPC firms.
• Previous ADNOC offshore experience is an advantage.
