Specialist General Surgeon

About the role

Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital, part of the M42 network, is seeking a highly skilled Specialist General Surgeon to join its multidisciplinary team. The role involves delivering comprehensive surgical care to a diverse patient population, including both elective and emergency cases, while adhering to international standards of practice.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients with a wide range of general surgical conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency surgical procedures within granted clinical privileges.
• Conduct pre‑operative evaluations and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Provide post‑operative care and follow‑up to ensure optimal recovery.
• Participate in on‑call coverage and manage surgical emergencies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate timely patient interventions.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with hospital policies and regulations.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and patient safety programs.
• Mentor junior physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals as needed.

Required profile

• MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
• Completion of a recognized residency and specialty training program in General Surgery.
• Holding an Arab Board, European Board, MRCS or an equivalent specialist qualification.
