Steel Structural Engineer

About the role

The Steel Structural Engineer will supervise and manage all structural steel erection activities on a major brownfield EPC project in the UAE. The role involves coordinating daily site work with construction teams, subcontractors, QA/QC, HSE and project management to ensure quality, safety and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise primary and secondary steel structure erection, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, MTOs and bolt schedules.
• Monitor bolted connections, alignment, leveling, and overall erection quality.
• Coordinate lifting and erection activities with the lifting team and ensure adherence to approved lifting plans and HSE requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, prepare progress reports and maintain accurate documentation through document‑control systems.
• Identify technical issues or site constraints and work with relevant teams for timely resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years overall engineering/construction experience.
• At least 3 years industrial site experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery or Power construction.
• Proven experience in structural steel erection, especially bolted connections and primary/secondary steel structures.
