Steward – Dishwashing & Kitchen Cleaning

About the role

The Steward ensures that all food‑and‑beverage areas are cleaned, sanitized and maintained to the highest standards. Working in a fast‑paced hotel kitchen, you will operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment, support the culinary team and help deliver a flawless guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing and pot‑washing machines, monitoring cycles, temperatures and chemical usage.
• Pre‑treat, load, unload and inspect all wares, re‑washing items that do not meet cleanliness standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, breakdown zone and garbage disposal.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment, change filters and water as required.
• Use correct cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Replenish supplies, report shortages and ensure workstations are stocked.
• Assist guests courteously, respond to inquiries and resolve any complaints related to the service area.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month experience in dishwashing, kitchen cleaning or a similar hospitality role.
• Fluency in English and basic arithmetic skills.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining 100 % cleanliness standards.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling and sanitation practices.
