Structural Design Engineer – Interior Fit‑Out Projects

About the role

Bond Interiors is looking for a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer to create safe, practical and cost‑effective structural solutions for interior fit‑out, refurbishment and building modification projects across the UAE. The role involves performing structural analysis, designing reinforcement and strengthening systems, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare structural designs, calculations and analysis for fit‑out, refurbishment and modification works.
• Design steel and concrete elements such as beams, columns, lintels, connection details, support frames, platforms and equipment foundations.
• Develop reinforcement and strengthening solutions for slab openings, wall removals, beam modifications, core drilling and service penetrations.
• Produce retrofitting concepts using reinforced concrete, structural steel, anchoring systems, carbon‑fibre (FRP) and other techniques.
• Assess existing buildings and evaluate the impact of proposed alterations.
• Generate calculation reports, design reports and detailed drawings, and review subcontractor shop drawings.
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, MEP engineers and project managers throughout the design development process.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Proven experience in reinforced concrete and structural steel design for interior fit‑out or refurbishment projects.
• Familiarity with local building codes and authority approval processes.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
