Structural Design Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Structural Design Manager to lead the structural design discipline for major rail and metro projects in the UAE. The role combines team leadership, client interaction and hands‑on technical work on complex railway structures.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Structural Design team, handling resource planning, workload distribution and performance monitoring.
• Plan and deliver structural design outputs across concept, preliminary, detailed and IFC stages, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets and quality standards.
• Oversee the design of iconic underground, at‑grade and elevated stations, depots, maintenance facilities and other railway structures.
• Provide technical direction, ensuring appropriate engineering approaches, design methodologies and standards are applied.
• Act as the primary liaison for structural design matters with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
• Review and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Maintain hands‑on involvement in complex reinforced‑concrete design and problem‑solving.
• Lead multidisciplinary design reviews, constructability workshops, value‑engineering studies and coordination activities.
• Monitor progress, quality and risks, resolving technical issues and mentoring junior engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in structural design management for railway or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities with a client‑facing orientation.
• Hands‑on expertise in reinforced‑concrete structures and major structural elements.
• Ability to make technical decisions throughout the full design lifecycle.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with diverse stakeholders.
