Subsea SWAT Engineer

About the role

The Subsea SWAT Engineer supports operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of subsea well‑control equipment, primarily the Blowout Preventer (BOP) stack, across Noble’s global fleet. Working on a 28/28 rotation, you will be onboard drilling rigs and collaborate with core subsea crews to ensure safe, efficient drilling in high‑pressure environments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in installation, testing and maintenance of subsea BOP systems and control pods.
• Monitor and maintain hydraulic and multiplex control systems.
• Maintain surface well‑control equipment such as choke, kill, motion‑compensation and riser systems.
• Support routine and non‑routine inspections of subsea equipment, including risers, LMRP and wellhead components.
• Participate in pressure testing, function testing and troubleshooting of subsea systems.
• Maintain accurate equipment status records, maintenance logs and test results.
• Assist with ROV operations for subsea equipment deployment and retrieval.
• Ensure compliance with Noble safety protocols, API, ABS and other regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with drilling, marine and rig maintenance teams to coordinate subsea activities.
• Take part in pre‑job planning, risk assessments, safety meetings and post‑hitch After‑Action Reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years offshore experience with subsea well‑control systems.
• Relevant mechanical certification or graduation from a subsea trainee program.
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness and procedural discipline.
• Willingness to work offshore in rotational shifts and challenging conditions.

Required skills

• Subsea BOP system installation, testing and maintenance.
• Hydraulic and multiplex control system expertise.
• Surface well‑control equipment (choke, kill, motion‑compensation, riser) operation.
• ROV operation for equipment deployment and retrieval.
• Pressure testing and functional testing of subsea systems.
• Technical drawing and schematic interpretation.
• Proficiency with IFS ERP system (advantageous).
• Familiarity with HMH & NOV well‑control systems (advantageous).
• Knowledge of API and ABS standards.
