System Architect

About the role

EDGE’s PowerTech centre of excellence is seeking a System Architect to define and maintain the global architecture of its next‑generation turbofan engine. You will ensure technical coherence across all subsystems while supporting the product from concept through certification.

Key responsibilities

• Define and support the functional architecture and system breakdown structure to guarantee performance compliance of the turbofan propulsion subsystem.
• Allocate, manage, and trace system‑level requirements, balancing performance, cost, weight, and durability trade‑offs.
• Maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs, FICDs) and ensure architectural consistency throughout development phases.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Module Managers, Certification & Safety engineers, and Integration & Test teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in turbofan propulsion, aerospace, or similarly complex engineered systems.
• Strong understanding of turbofan architectures, test‑plan validation, and engine performance.
• Proficiency in system engineering and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
• Knowledge of certification schemes (CS‑E) and safety principles (FHA, PSSA).
• Experience interacting with customers, OEMs, and regulatory authorities.
