Tax Accountant – UAE Corporate, VAT & Excise

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant / Tax Consultant to join our team in the JAFZA Free Zone. The role focuses on UAE tax legislation, corporate tax, VAT and excise tax compliance for a cigarette/tobacco manufacturing operation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and file corporate tax, VAT and excise tax returns in line with Federal Tax Authority regulations.
• Manage excise tax compliance for tobacco products, including product registration, declarations and stock movement tracking.
• Ensure adherence to JAFZA Free Zone tax rules and maintain eligibility for tax benefits.
• Produce quarterly and annual tax reports, estimate liabilities and reconcile payments.
• Identify tax‑saving opportunities, draft research memos and advise on tax‑efficient strategies.
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors and regulatory authorities, handling registrations, deregistrations and audits.

Required profile

• Professional accounting or tax qualification (CA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent).
• Minimum 2‑3 years of tax consulting/advisory experience in a large industrial setting, preferably tobacco manufacturing.
• Hands‑on experience with JAFZA Free Zone operations and excise‑controlled goods.
