About the role

The Teaching Assistant – Applied Media supports faculty and students across Media, Design, Broadcasting and Communication programmes by ensuring the department’s equipment, studios, laboratories and workshops are fully operational. The role is hands‑on, involving the setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of technical facilities, as well as delivering up to 10 hours of instructional support each week. The assistant works closely with faculty to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.

Key responsibilities

Maintain and service all media equipment, studio, lab and workshop facilities.
Run, monitor and evaluate studio, workshop and lab sessions to familiarize students with tools and operations.
Install, demonstrate, and troubleshoot audio‑visual and broadcasting equipment.
Prepare studios, workshops and labs for student projects and experiments.
Provide up to 10 hours per week of instructional assistance to students and faculty.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all media facilities.
Coordinate scheduling and booking of studio and lab resources.
