Technical Authority Expert – Unix/Linux Systems Specialist

About the role

Ericsson is looking for a senior Technical Authority Expert to lead Unix/Linux system operations, provide advanced customer support, and coordinate offshore teams. You will ensure that production environments meet Service Level Agreements while working with Solaris, Linux, and cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical coordination on customer sites and oversee offshore teams to maintain system performance and stability.
• Provide advanced support for Solaris, HP‑UX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, high‑availability clusters and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Participate in customer projects involving Red Hat, Oracle, Dell, HP and other enterprise technologies.
• Advise on system integration, architecture and solution design; support presentations and documentation.
• Manage technical requests independently, handle critical incidents, outages and disaster‑recovery scenarios from inception to resolution.
• Troubleshoot operating systems, restore systems after failures and plan recovery strategies.
• Coordinate with design teams, Level 3 support and vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
• Develop and implement automation using Ansible and Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools, following ITIL best practices.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, NFV, SDN or cloud environments.
• Hands‑on expertise with Solaris 10/11, including recovery procedures.
• Experience with SPARC/Oracle hardware, LDOM, Zones, Oracle VM and Sun Cluster technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6‑9), HP‑UX and clustering solutions.
• Proficiency with storage systems such as ZFS, UFS and QFS.
• Ability to work independently with customers and manage technical requests.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
