Technical Director – MEP Design

About the role

The Technical Director will provide strategic leadership and deep technical expertise for the MEP Design division, ensuring the highest quality of delivery across all projects. This senior position partners with the Directors of MEP Services on business development, quality management, and talent development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical effort of projects within the assigned discipline and guarantee overall technical quality.
• Provide expert advice to project teams and resolve complex engineering issues.
• Manage technical design teams, fostering clear communication and effective coordination.
• Oversee technical aspects of all home‑office projects, aligning designs with scope, standards, budget and client goals.
• Drive QA/QC procedures to ensure designs meet the Project Execution Plan standards.
• Lead concept design phases, reviewing deliverables for compliance and completeness.
• Report progress on large, complex projects to clients and program management.
• Support proposal development and participate in client presentations to win new work.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of post‑graduate engineering experience, including design and business development.
• At least 5 years leading a technical discipline within a consulting firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Full corporate membership of a recognised professional institution (e.g., C.Eng., M.I.C.E., P.E.) is advantageous.
